What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring appropriate clothing to your MotionWorks visit (e.g. Shorts if you have injured any part of your lower body or back; a tank top or bra top if you have injured your shoulder, neck, or mid-back). Should you forget, we have appropriate clothing and draping for your visit. Additionally, any footwear that may contribute to your symptoms and/or orthotics that you are currently using for support.
It is not required, but you may bring your physiotherapy or massage therapy referral (provided to you by your doctor).
Please bring any investigation/imaging reports you have had completed related to your reason for attending MotionWorks.

What will happen during my first visit?
Your first visit will include a thorough examination of your injured body part and any other areas that may be influencing or related to your primary injury. Your therapist will then explain your condition and discuss a goal-oriented treatment plan with you.
-
How will my condition or injury be treated?
Treatment (that day and/or any other visit) may consist of manual therapy, exercise, education, acupuncture, dry needling, ultrasound, electrotherapy, or other services relevant to your recovery and treatment plan.
Your therapist may provide patient handouts at the end of your visit, which may include exercises, information sheets, or management strategies, to help your understanding and recovery beyond the clinic.
-
Do you accept insurance?
Our services are all covered by extended health coverage. However, we do not do direct billing. For more details please see our FAQ page for 'Do you do direct billing?'
Remember, you do not need a doctor’s referral to see one of our physiotherapists, but check with your insurance company if they require one.
Appointments & Cancellations
Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. As such, we require 1 business day's notice for any appointment cancellation or rescheduling. A cancellation fee applies to any appointment cancelled within less than 1 business day's notice.
Please call the clinic to make any cancellations. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, as such any conflicts or concerns may be discussed with the treating therapist regarding the cancellation policy terms.
